2 ?’s: datum planes & assembly features

Why won't any datum planes show up in my drawing, even though I have them turned on? I can get an individual datum plane to show up if I highlight it in the model tree, but it will disappear if I chose another datum plane or another component. I've never seen this happen before.

Also when I open a part file from the assembly model tree, the file opens but some of the features are missing. Holes and cutouts in particular. I'm assuming the features must have been added in the assembly itself, but I cannot highlight the features in order to modify them. Is there a way to single out the holes and cutouts so that I can modify their size and position?

Thank you.

HI,

1st abt the datum planes, I think the layer is hidden. So go to the layer tree and unhide all the layers.refresh it and click on views<visibility<save_status to make sure that you see the datums the next time you open it.

2nd an assembly feature can be modified only in the assembly level and only when the top assembly or subassembly where the feature is created is activated. If the condition is satisfied then right click on the feature and say edit-Defination, You will be able to modify the feature
