3D drawings in WF3.0

Hi All,

Is anyone out there using 3D drawings in Pro/E Wildfire 3.0? I am considering the impact of moving to this style of drawing preparation in the future, and wondered on the changes needed from the creation point of view compared with doing a 2D drawing.

I know that the ASME standard is released for 3D drawings, but that the equivalent ISO seems to be dragging along behind. I'm assuming that WF is based on the ASME standard, just wondered if anyone had practical experience of using.

Regards,

One major downfall is that it takes a lot longer to do a 3D drawing than it does a 2D drawing. You have to create driven dimensions rather than just showing driving dimensions, which means you have to do twice as much work. I have been told this issue is to be resolved in future versions of PRO. It is conveniant though to have everything you need on model rather than having two files, model & drawing. Also a viewer is needed, which some vendors might be reluctant to use, since they are used to the old way of having a drawing.
