Adding a Round in Assembly Mode?

I've got a part that gets assembled and then gets a profiled turned into it. The problem is that there are rounds that need to be added to the model. When in Assembly, the Round tool is grayed out though. I know that I can go into my profile and add construction lines for the profile that will be removed with the rounds and what not, but that is that the only way to go about it? We're using WF4.0.

Thanks for the help,

Josh

Rounds are disabled in assembly mode for the simple reason that adding a round may also involve adding material to the target i.e. internal radii. If you want to add a round you will need to:

A: Workaround so that the cuts and radii are contained at part-level even though you may show them on your assembly drawing;

B: Add the feature as a revolved (circular features)cut or variable section sweep (constant section);

C: Don't add the round.

I have to have them in my model, and they have to be on the assembly level, so I guess that I'm going to be adding them to the section. It is for the curve on a plug profile for a control valve and our CNC shop uses our profiles, so they have to be in there. What sucks is that I need to have the dimensions for the theorhetical intersections and also for the rounds, so I'll have to do it with construction lines and what not. Thanks for the help.

Is it possible for you to create the rounds at the part level, supress them, and then make the component flexible in the assembly and resume the rounds at that level? That way they will not show up on the part level, but they would on the assembly level, like you want.
