Adding snap lines to existing set

This problem has bugged me for years.

If I made 5 snap lines, then realized I needed two more, I have to delete all the existing snap lines, create 7 new ones, then reposition all the dimensions that were on the old ones on to the new ones.

Is there an option to just add to an existing set?

If I add two new lines instead of deleting the 5 and adding 7, then the 2 new ones won't move when I move one of the original five.

And you can select existing snap lines, RMB properties and change the spacing on all of them at once.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I was aware of s_pme20 and dr_gallups comments. contour managed to nail what I was looking for. After I played around with it, I discovered that you can "edit attachment" on a snap line so that it will reference an existing one instead. This solves my problem perfectly!
