Advanced Part Modeling Class PTC

My boss would like to know if the Advanced Part Modeling Class offered by PTC is a value added class for a Product Designer.View attachment 4179<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I have found the class very helpful for the projects I work on. It will depend on what you are designing. The class covers a wide range of advanced features including advanced drafts, rounds, sweeps, blends, patterns, etc. You also get the basics of surfacing & BMX. I find that I am able to create parts much faster and with less features than most others in my department that have not taken the class. I had used these features before I had taken the class, but now am much more efficient and have a much better understanding of how powerful the features actually are. Good class in my opinion.

Hope this helps

Classes get you in the game but they're no magic bullet. However, I took it & found it to be worthwhile, especially subjects on VSS & conics. I would sayyou get out of this what you put into it. Like rcg said, better understanding & efficiency are what you can expect afterwards.

I agree this is a good class. The one thing I was disappoiinted
with was they did not touch on any use of AAX programmatically.
For instance, they showed you how to replace parts, but not how to do
it with string parameters. There were a number of these types of
instructions that were missing from the cirriculum. However, for
hands-on modeling use, the class is great for some of the "hidden"
features.

All-in-all, it is a great class. I just wish they had an advanced advanced class.
