Advanced rendering

hi to all, i was wondering is there any way i cn render my car which ive modelled in pro e like the way ppl do in studio max and other packages.


pro e its self is powerful

but unfortunatly the rendering facilities are very dry

..ive heard there is an addon package for more advanced rendeirng, and i was wondering where i cn get a copy of that

otherwise which other option do i have..


i also have studio max however when i save teh model which ive created using surfaces as an iges(in proe), studio max seems to ignore my main curves as well as hide other shapes, is it because of teh file format that ive saved it as or is it just STUDIO MAX

There should be enough tips, and suggestion how to achieve advanced rendering with ProE.


In general you must have ARX (Advanced Rendering Extension) license, with installed Material library (or you could create your own materials as suggested in above thread).
For exporting to other rendering software you must have additional translating software so that 3DS can read files from ProE.

CPiotrowski is one of the main members on this forum who has great experience with rendering, cars in particular. Search through this forum for the Belaire thread and rendering Q&A, they will help you a lot.

N-translator is a pretty common translator program that will transfer a stp file to a 3DS file with ease. Thats one of a ton of options tho. There is also a translator that you can demo that will automatically install into 3DS that will translate stp files for you right in 3DS. I dont remember what that is tho. I used the 60day trial and it seemed to work pretty well. If you click on the link in my message just below that says mustang_006, that was rendered in wildfire with the ARX extension.
