Aircraft models for Pro/E or SW

Does anyone know where I can get 3D models of military aircraft? Specifically I am looking for the F-16, C, or D frame aircraft. Ideally I would like to have something I can interrogate, cut and protrude.

Thanks

Thanks for that...there are some formats Pro/E can read with these vendors...but so far nothing I can interrogate or make solid.

Frustrating

Have you tried 3D CAD Browser (http://www.3dcadbrowser.com/browse.aspx)? This website has some CAD models of airplanes. Unfortunately most are not in SW, Pro-E, or even STEP format.

I think this question have been asked previously on the Pro-E forum. I do know if a search of this forum will lead to an answer, but someone else may have posted a link to another website that contains these CAD models.

Regards,

Chris

Well, it seems a lot of models available on the web are polygonal. Basically meaning software such as Pro Engineer won't be able to make much use of it.

It's not that polygons are better or worse - it's just different.

I ended up just modeling one myself. Found a scale model, and with calipers and a tape measure took a couple hours and got it done.

It's not perfect...and I know I'll keep tweaking it here and there. Due to lack of time, I made it as a single part...someday I will do it as an assembly so I can move flaps, canopy and add external fuel tanks, bombs...etc...
