All this talk about Knurls

I have gone through every thread that talks about Knurls and everybody
says the same thing, "Go Cosmetic." Well thats fine but could someone
tell me what Cosmetic feature to use? I have choices, Thread, Sketch,
Groove, and ECAD area. None of these selection work for how I want to
display Cosmetic. The closes I can get is a Thread, but a Knurl is not
a thread. How do I represent a Knurl the same way as a Cosmetic Thread
I guess is my question. Thanks

Please look in the file section.

I've uploaded a file called "Diamond Knurl" back in '04.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks Charleskim, but it does not. I don't want to construct the Knurl, I just want to represent a Knurl much the same way as a Cosmetic Thread. Thanks

I don't think there's anything cosmetic that's going to "look like" a knurl, model and drawing, so guess what you need to do is figure out why you want some type of representation and go from there.

just create a note and attach it to the surface yu want to knurl. In the note explain what ever you want.

This is how we do about knurling.

ADD COSMETIC KNURLING TO RADIAL PART SURFACE<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
(To show knurling on drawing from Cosmetic Groove feature)

(Note: Do not create datum plane for angle dimension

Could you post an example of what the end result would look like. I've never used a cosmetic groove before.
