Analysis of water volume

Hi all,

Interesting problem, wondered if you gurus could help out. And all this needs to be done using basic ProE (no mechanica or fluid tools

I have a simple water tank with a given volume of water (say, 2 litres) and need to evaluate the water level if the tank is tipped through 35deg in any direction. So I guess I need a parameter that shows the water level given the volume.

Any ideas?

All I have managed so far, is build a part that is sketched from the base of the tank and extruded upto an assy datum. The rotate the "tank" part in the assy and regenerate. This achieves the correct water level but not volume.

just make a sketch on ur tank's inside surface in 35 deg inclined condition. take the vertical height(say A)of the top level ofsketch as parameter then just fill that sketch to make a surface. Now calculate that suraface area and saved it as a feature. create another parameter called volume whose value will be derived y the relation surface area * width of the tank. now just do a bmx optimizationso that value of parameter of volume will be equal to ur needed bolume by means of changing that parameter A.
