Any Good books- wildfire 3?

New member
Hello,

I have been using wildfire 3 for 2 years now, but would like to learn more about modelling processes and tools available. (surfacing included).

No real requirement for mechanism/analysis or management topics though.

So, has anyone got any recommendations for reading material.....? as we all know xmas is coming soon!

Oh, Uk shop links (A-la Amazon.co.uk) would be very appreciated if poss.

thanks.

Hey rcoe, The only books I have bought and read are the ones by Roger Toogood, just type his name in amazon and you will get a whole list of books. The internet is just as good a resource however, just google surfacing with WF3, amazing how much material you can find.

Ive been using pro-e for approx 1 yr now... slowly getting better

Roger Toogood's books are very good. Bit expensive if you're paying for them yourself though. I could probably send you some tutorials if you asked me really nicely.

Hi,

You have good number of proe books for free if you try to download using emule (emule downloader freely available).

I am taking a course in Pro/E which primarily focuses on what you've described (no analysis or projectmanagement) and we are using Toogood's book. Very well written. Not fraught with errors like I've seen with other books...well, the last book we used in this class was that way at least

. I think it's worth the investment.

I used Toogood's book for a number of years and then switched to Kelley's text (publisher McGraw-Hill). This book has good/intensive tutorials, covers everything from system configuration, sketcher-extrusion-revolve to simple surfacing (boundary blends, vss, swept-blend), basic and advanced drawings, standard assemblies and kinematic assemblies.

There are some errors in step-by-step menu choices and the author doesn't emphasize the right mouse button options in all applications.

Jraquet,

thanks for the tip on Kelley's books.... i had not seen them before :)

from the chapter decriptions on amazon, it seems to cover different topics and structure than Toogood's book.

cheers!
