manipulation??

i have some existing surface files of fingernails and i need to re-create these with variable thicknesses.

the files i have were digitized and they are not symetrical nor are the surfaces smooth and i'm just wondering what the best approach is to take with whati have and make new parts.

the last style idid i was given underlying curves so i could recreate curves from those existing ones to smooth things out and that worked out pretty good but there is nothing but un-even un-smooth surfs on this new set.

i'm a bit stumped, any suggestions would be helpful!!!

Create free curves and attach points of the curvesto the surface. In this way the curve will reference your original surface, but at the same time leave the refsurface and create a smooth spline.
