If I have a sub asm that has several reps, in the BOM in the top level Asm drw how do it get the &asm.mbr.name feild to show the Simple Rep that im using rather than the name of the enitre sub asm (Master rep)?

Confused yet?

OK, Yet another question,

I use simple reps to control asms, that have several different versions, Ease of use thing. Turn Parts (options) on and off ect. Its fast, stable and stops people opening an instance of a family table and causinghavok. Big plus is you can copy reps into a higher level asm easily.

Im I doing this wrong?........should i do every thing with a family table. That Idea does not appeal

I use family tables a lot for sheetmetal parts, turing features on and off, Flat Patterns of each instance etc. Also all Hardware nuts & bolts. But they can get big Fast and be a sod to manage Especialy on something that keeps on getting added to.
