Assemblies, and working directory, saving

With regards to assemblies and working directory in proE wildfire; creating the search.pro file and using that with config.pro, I am able to get the assembly to pull the necessary parts from the different directories. My questions are these:
1) Does it matter the order or the directories in the search.pro file?
2) When you edit a part in the assembly by activating the part and changing and updating it in the assembly, how can I get proE to save the changed part back to where it was pulled from when you click save while working in the assembly? Currently, it saves the assembly and the modified part to the working directory - ie, a .asm file and a .prt file is created.
3) Where should your working directory be set to if you can get question 2 is achieveable?

Thanks in advance :) from New Zealand

Pro/E will search the directories in the order loaded but after the working directory. Since you never ever have multiple objects with the same name, the search path order should not matter. You never ever have duplicate objects named the same, right?

Set these config options to ensure modified files go back where they came from.
save_object_in_current no
override_store_back no

I found working in different directories cumbersome.

I prefer to dump all the files in the same working directory. To locate relevant files I open the files thru the assembly.

Thanks very much dr_gallup - and yes - you never have duplicate objects named the same :)

SRINIVASANIYER1 - I would find that easier if I was able to do so ... but when you use the same part in different assemblies which are located in a different directory, then I am faced with such problems.

Thanks for your input :) Will give it a go.
