Assembly - Lightweight mode

Hi Guyz,

How to start the assembly in lightweight mode? Is there any option before doing the assembly do we have to preset?

I have created one assembly, i dont know whether it is in lightweight mode or not. When i try to open the main assembly, the options which are at thebottom of the open dialogue box which always preselected as Large assembly mode.

I manually deselect the Large mode assembly so that lightweight mode get selected and activated. Even theni open it as lightweight mode, the assembly takes so much time to open and working with that assembly also head ache, always gets hanged when i try to open the part in the navigation window.

For this reason only i am asking the question, whether we have set any option so that when we creating the assembly that should be in Lightweight mode.

Actually i am fed up with handling the assembly. Please someone react quickand give me the solution..

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sounds like you're using the Lightweight option correctly. It might be another problem. Do you have any traffic lights showing in the assemby feature tree? If they don't go away you might have a circular reference, which will badly affect performance.

Not sure why it is acting like that, but it may be time to ask your VAR. On the other hand, it is not whether the assembly is lightweight or not. The model itself is not lightweight. The way it is opened is either lightweight or not. Hopefully that will clear up at least one of your questions.

Hi smoky, Only the top level assembly has that problem. Remaining all the sub-assemblies and parts opens as lightweight mode.
One more thing i didn't see any difference between those two modes, when i opened it as Large assembly mode or Lightweight mode.
