Hi,
I am wondering if the results of a mass properties calculation in pro/e could be used to calculate if an assembly member would be strong enough to support a specific load.
Eg:- I have an aluminium cantilever attached to a fixed body. from this cantilever are 2 movable arms. I want to calculate the moments of inertia around the pivot point of the aluminium with the arm extended fully, and from that calculate if the aluminium is strong enough to support the weight.
Can this be done easily? the assembly is symmetrical with the arm extended.
Is there any information regarding this type of analysis available for download?
We just want a quick analysis and do not want to go the FEA route.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
Stephen.
