Assembly question

Hi to everyone!

For example we have an assembly file. And in this assembly file we have many parts.

And imagine that we create one more new assembly file inside assembly file i mentioned above.

Is there any possiblity to move some components from main assembly file to minor assembly file?

Thanks a lot...

Use the "Restructure" command under the "Edit" pulldown. Select the file you want to move and then select the subassembly you want to move it into.

Keep an eye out for references that may get lost in the process. If you move a part to another assembly the references that you used to place it may not be in the subassembly and when you go open it by itself it may fail. So just be careful with your references.

I think Restructure will give you problems. It is notorious for crashing Pro/E and I think it will end up giving you circular reference problems too. Another way round this problem would be to take a copy of your top-level assembly, delete out the parts you don't want in this sub-assembly and then assemble this sub-assembly back into your top-level assembly. This assumes that your sub-assembly components are happy with parts being deleted though. You may have to have a rethink on how the models are constructed.

Thank you very much Jason and pjw..I will try both your suggestions. In my assembly file both of them will work i think.Because i am only using fix constraint nor mate neither align constraints.

But i will keep both solutions in my mind. Thanks again.Have a nice day
