Assembly XSec through one component

Is it possible to create a Xsec through only one component in an assembly?? I have contacted PTC tech support and received this response:

well, you can still set rest of components as Exclude in X-Sec Properties menu

how do i do this? can you explain please

you make X-sec, then RMB(right mouse button) > Redifine > Hatching > Exclude, all of this in Assembly mode

However I noticed that hatching can be hided, but the outline(boundary of Whole X sec) not
