Dear All,

i have some case, you can see in picture below. at plate B i have 4 holes, then i want in plate A have holes like in plate B automatically..can pro/E do it??

so when i assemble the part, there will be no error...

i hope i speak it clear...

thanks so much

Wats d error ur gettin while assembling the part B to part A. U shud hav do holes in part A with the same pitch as in part B and then mate align it.

Automatic holes!?! Thats a good one. Thanks for making me laugh this
morning. First of all, no. And second, You have the model (part b)
right there! just grad the dimensions for the holes and pattern them on
part A. You could have sketched the four holes and saved the sketch
then import the sketch onto part A.

It would be a scary world if Pro/E had automatic holes created in
assembly. Can you imagine the parent child nightmares? Its giving
me chills just thinking about.

You can create features while u r in the assembly. Just activate the part and place the holes exactly where u whant it. And to keep the part indepent just use the parts datums, edges, etc.. If don't have the exact location do a model analysis/distance to find out.

What you wann do is add a holeusing the axis with the lowest number in the part with the four hole pattern (if it doesn't have axes, you can pattern them in). After you have that hole you can pattern by reference and the holes should show up in place. This also works for any components you want to add.

This all has to be done in the assembly with the part to have holes added being active.

provided you can pick consistent references in both parts, you can also use Edit/Feat Operations to copy the holes from one part to another.

I often name my pattern leader (first pattern instance) so it stands out in the window.

It is easier than trying to figure out the lowest number. Especially when you get a lot of references on the screen.
