axes pattern in rectangular block

I cannot create an axes pattern around axes (A_3). Any idea why? Thanks in advance. Please see the attached image

Thanks for the quick reply, i would have never posted such a simple question but the problem is i cannot select the axes for patterning.

I created the axes using 2 plane option. How did you create the axes in your part. May be the problem lies with the method of axes creation. Thanks again

your axis refrence must be older than pattern refrence.
