Blend feature

how can i create a blend feature between two sections which have different number of segments/entities? for example a circle and a square? proe gives this message : "Sections 1 and 2 have different number of entities. Redefine them. OK?"

also when i create this using boundary blend tool i endup a twisted surface. how can i modify the default connection points? i can dynamically drag one of the connection points but not others.

to add tho tommypurple2's comment, you can use the "divide an entity at the point of selection" tool inside sketcher Pro/E gave a long name for a that tool :)

And often ill line up centerlines in an 'X' shape so I can constrain with an angle dimension of of the point that bisects the circle.

There will be an arrow in each sketch. This arrow indicates where each segment will start connecting each sketch. The arrow must be going the same direction and in the same location for each sketch or you will get this twisting effect.

you should be able to right click the position you want to be the starting position, just click it twice to flip the arrow.

control points. We get a lot of people in for surfacing training and this is something we cover in the first coupe hours of the class. It is also something that almost all the advanced users coming for the one week surfacing class ... many of which never use control points. You can also use piece to piece or drag the grips and move em in the yellow preview mode.

You original question used the word ... 'blend' which made me think of the BLEND TOOL in Pro/E. A blend ideal can be made a bunch of different ways in Pro/E... Surfacing is probably the most robust and easy to modify. The actual blend tool has its cons and less pros.

thanks Bart, i used the piece to piece option with the divided circle and got what i wanted. but i cant use the grips to dynamically modify the position of the connecting points.

The drag handle (small white circle) snaps to the end points of the segments. Its been my experience that you need to move it more than half way along a segment before it will switch to the next point. Another thing you can do is right click on the circle and select remove and it will change to a square. You can then drag the handles along the curve segments.
