BOM for assy X-section

I have x-section view of an assy. I'd like to show the balloons on the items only which are being sectioned. Its kinda of a big assy with more than 300 components in it. So, to manually include or exclude components or creating a Simplified Rep is going to be a bit tedious.
Is there anyway to do this? (I searched the forum a little bit but couldn't find a relevant thread)
