revier

New member
i am in design of plastic bottles and cap for food container application.

i used spi neck finish spec to design the thread of botlte. but i dontknow how to design thread for cap which will engage the bottle thread. where can i get the specification for cap thread? and how should be the section of bottle and cap thread engagement at the fully closed condition?

i believe the thread is called and M4, and is 4mm lead per revolution.

How did you make the threads for the bottle w/o knowing anything about the thread?

hai moto!

tnx for ur reply.

i got a spi neck finish spec. by google search.from there i used sp400-M77 series(pitch 4.24mm)to design bottle thread.

but i couldn't find thred sec. for cap and how should be the bottle and cap thread engagement.

The pitch on a 77-400 bottle neck finish is actually 2.39 mm or 6 threads per inch. The corresponding threads for the cap are Finish No. 77-400 from the Closure Design Series P-400, C.M.A. Dwg. No.: PC-4003.

Hello,

I am looking for a generic model of a closure for a 28-400 SP Neck Finish blow-molded bottle. Of course, the closure (cap) is injection-molded, and I would like to check the fit of the threads on the bottle to the closure

These closures (caps) are developed to industry standards and specifications, and it would be helpful to have a model of a generic closure in SolidWorks or Pro-E (WF 3.0 or earlier) for reference. Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Chris Thompson
