Bulk Item and Mass

Canis Lupus

New member
Hi to all,

I have an assembly with some parts and some bulk items (like a paint, grease, etc.).
I want to the assembly mass properties will be calculated even mass from bulk items.
How to set up parameters of bulk items?
Thanks for response

I don't think it's possible with a Bulk Item but you could assemble normal parts without geometry and get the same effect. Thendo this...

Ok, since there iszero volume first you have to assign mass props to the "bulk part", basically empty part. Edit>Setup>Massprops and for the source pick "Geometry and Parameters" then "Edit" and then add the information that you need.

Once this is done you can check your mass props by selecting on the "Generate Report". The normal way through Analysis>Model>Mass Props requires you to select "Assigned" instead of "Computed".

Same thing can be done at the assembly level but just leave thesource as "Geometry".Make sure that the "Assigned" is selected before running the mass props command. This picks up the parts that are computed AND the assigned ones.
