Cables using Pipe option

Hi,

I gotta problem, I used pipe option for cables which connects PCB board to some parts.
The pipe option which i used in part mode, the feature visible as solid. But when i tried to do the pipe in assembly mode, only axis is visible instead of solid. You can see that in the picture given below.
Is there any config setting that i need to change to get the solid feature?

Awaiting for your prompt.

Why not just make the pipe in part mode again? For things like this, I usually have a component with the wire (your fan), in an assembly with the connector, which then get's assembled to the electronics enclosure. I'll activate the fan assembly and assemble the connector to it's mate, then open the fan assembly, and activate the fan part (with wire) and reference the connector geometry to create my pipe/sweep/wire...

Now I move the mating connector (or the entire pcb in your case) and everything updates, and my model tree best reflects my true BOM.

This doesn't directly answer your question above, but I hope it helps.

I don't know that answer - My only experience that I have with 3D features in assembles are those which remove material. Think about it from a manufacturing standpoint - How can you add material to an assembly? Maybe a weld, but I doubt there's value added in modeling welds, except for import to an FEA model or something.

Even if you use Pro/Cabling, the cables are created in their own part file...

Yeah, practically its not a gud way to add features in the assembly mode. I just wanna know y the feature has came without solid geometry and successfully.

Are you talking about the legacy Pipe command from Insert > Advanced? Thatessentially creates a sweep with a datum curve through points. As for why it is not visible, assuming it is created inpart mode, it should be visible. I would open a call with Tech Support, because I would imagine that this resulted from some kind of disjoint with Wildfire.

Yeah david we are talking about the same legacy pipe command which creates a solid or hollow pipe with a datum curve through points. After that the same pipe command i inserted as a part in the assembly, solid sweep pipe is visible now. Just look at the picture below. Im using Pro-e WF3.

Some one tried any other advanced feature in the assembly mode.
Thanks for ur prompt.

Now that I've re-read the thread, Jim Shaw is absolutely right -- features in assembly mode can not add mass. You can only create cuts or surface features. So if the pipes are created as assembly-level features, they show up as just trajectories.

I notice that you have ribbon cables. Those were added as new functionality in Cabling mode for WF4. I've played with it using the free online demo, and it's pretty darn good.

Jim,

When routing, you are given three options: Through, Fold, or Bend, for how you want the ribbon to go through the locations you specify.
