Calculating tolerance

Hi,

I am wondering if we can calculate tolerance in Pro-E for an assembly...such as the assembly of shaft bearing and housing....and how to analyze the tolerances?

Thank You...

I'm not sure what you're driving at with your question, but Pro cannot work out possible fit problems due to inappropriate tolerancing through GD&T beyond checking for geometric interferences. About all Pro can do is manipulate features using the DIM BOUND command. For that to work, you have to have a tolerance on the actual dimension, not in a feature frame. It's on the Edit->Setup menu.

With DIM BOUND you can ask Pro to actually change the geometry of a feature in accordance with that feature's dimensional tolerance. For instance, if your shaft diameter is 1.00

Since you are from UK, I presume you must be using the ISO system of limits and fits. If this is what you are looking at, set the model to ISO medium (or thecase may be). You can now specify the Limits to the shaft and hole (Hole Basis or Shaft Basis). Further you can also specify the shift of tolerance (say you are designing a plastic component and need to take into consider the shrinkage).
