Can’t make a plane through a cylinder. =/

Hello

Using WF2, I have recieved a cylindric object from a STEP file that has no planes or axis. I need to assemble it properly so I need a plane to constrain to.

Here's the problem: using the Datum Plane tool, I can only pick one surface - cylindric circumference or flat end - and it seems as if I need the least two as the OK button is greyed out despite that there is a plane displayed with default orientation on the screen. I cannot pick another surface by using CRTL, I can only change the one defined surface.

Is this something anyone recognizes?

Oh, never mind.

I realized I could bump up the "Insert here" arrow to before the Import Feature, then make a default set of planes.

Problem solved.

hi
no need to bumb up,if u want create default datum planes and coordinate system, juz go to insert, model datum, offset planes, and press enter 3 times as accepting the default offset value as "0".
