But when i import the file direct to proe i have solid geometry but all corners is deformed.

Then i try to make a mold with this part and is imposibile.

I try to fix model whith heal geometry.

SO is enyone have some idea how to fix the model or how to import better model.

I try evrything.

The accuracy of CATIA

Pleas Help

Tony, send me the .model file and I will covert it to any Pro/E version you like. I will use the Elysium translator (http://www.elysiuminc.com) and the file should look great when I send it back to you. At this point you should have no trouble making your mold.

Tony,

you can open (import) catia v4 files in proe if u have Pro/Interface for CATIA or better is ATB module.

also, u can heal the geometry by redefining the imported feature,

I attach a document which describes the methodolgy for refining the model.

HOpe this helps..2006-01-07_063759_import.doc.zip

Just my observations:

I did a trainingseminar about import from Catis to proE. The objective was really to teach Import Data Doctor. I had the same files exported from Catia as Step and Iges. In the training I had to use the Step-files as they were all broken on import whereas the Iges-files converted to solids immediately. So in -that- case, Iges was really the better format for file transfer.

In short, when receiving files from another system, always try and get both Step and Iges (and more if possible) as you will have different results with them.

Toni did you have a chance to evaluate the direct Catia to Pro/E file translation I performed for you? I disagree with caddie IGES & STEP both SUCK!! IGES & STEP are both a standard which each different CAD software OEM interpret with different results, meaning no two are the same. A direct file translation is always the best solution, unfortunately the translator is a add on feature and it costs extra money. Why do you think IGES & STEP are free?
