Change colour on surface in assembly

LOLA-Christian

New member
I am trying to change colour on a surface in an assembly which is based
on an imported step-file (i.e. not created in ProE).
I can perform the change on the actual part, but not in the assembly.
Very frustrating......
Any suggestions?

Soyou want the part tohave one color (in .prt mode) and then in your asm you want one surf of the partto have a diffrent color?

you could create a copy of the surf in .asm mode , and then set what ever color you want on the copy. It works, But.... probably not the best way to do it...

Just a part of the part so to speak, a surface on the part
(a cut which is just there to give an image of text that will be screen printed on the finished part)

did you try to make a copy of the surf you want to change color to , and then change the color of it?

btw, you might want to give the copied surf an offset of 0.1 mm so it wont intersect whit the rest of the part.

I tried, but the actual surface which I would like to pick is not selectable,
when I point to the surface I want to change colour on, the hole part is selected.

Can you select other surfaces in your .asm? can you copy other surfaces in your .asm?

btw, when you pick the surf, the part gets selected, what if you pick on the surf again, is the surf selected then?

ok.

if you pick a part, then it gets highlighted...(thin red) then you can select the surf on the part thats selected. (you might have to query with RMB to get the surf. ) then, when the surf is highlighted, it becomes pink. just "copy paste".

is it possbile to upload the .asm?
