Change Part to Sheet Metal

I have a model where all of the driving dimensions come from one part. If I change the width, height or depth of this part, many other parts change size, and these changes are driven by relations (otherwise meaning, the relations are entered in manually).


Unfortunately, I need this part to be in sheet metal, and it isn't. Can I make it a sheet metal part without destroying all of the relations? Am I better off just copying and pasting all of the relations into notepad, replacing the part, and entering the relations back in again with the new dimensions to reference? Or is there a much better way?

you can do a sheetmetal conversion by having your model open and then changing your application to sheetmetal. Once you get past the first menu there will be an icon to do more sheetmetal conversion options.
