Christmas Card

Hello all,

I am trying to make a Christmas card on proe and I am
trying to figure out how to extrude words using the drawing
tool. Every time I go into the sketcher it inverts the
letters so their upside down. Is there some kind of setting
in properties that I can always default having the letters
placed in their normal non inverted fashion?

Carlos

Another issue that I keep running into is when I go to
extrude it keeps failing. This is the prompt its giving me

This feature is defined with dimensions that are very small
compared to the rest of the part.
You may want to change the part accuracy to be smaller than
0.00076165.

It sounds like maybe you are picking the wrong references or orientation for the sketch plane. For what you are doing here just pick the top datum plane for the sketch plane and let Pro/e pick the orientation and references.

You can use the rectangle tool for the first extrusion.

Do another extrusion on top of that one using the top surface as the sketch plane.

Ifyour sketches are failing theremight be some bad connections or dangling lines. There is a tool in the sketcher toolbar for drawing text that will make it much easier.

regarding the inverted letters. Is it maybe so that when you start sketching your text, you draw the "text hight line "downwards" , instead of " upwards" .

sorry about my english in this case...

When you are difining text in sketch mode here are a few things you need to know. First, you have to define the height from bottom to top (if you look at the text icon, you will notice a small blue box at the bottom of the A) If you start from top down, your text will type upside down.

second, remember that an extrusion comes toward you and a cut goes away from you (viewing the screen). When you define the surface you need to flip direction so that the text will show correctly for an extrude.

Hope this helps clear things up a little.
