Colors in Model Assembly Section

RLRick001

New member
I have a model assembly with several components, each a different color for clarification. When I remove a full Section to reveal the inside of the assembly, Only one or two component parts show their respective color.

My question is: how can I show each components color in a full section view of an assembly. I would like to see the individual color all the way through the parts instead of all one color for hatched material.

Any suggestions are welcome . . .

My apologies for Posting twice...First post went to Drawing Forum instead of Model Assembly Forum.

Thank you

Assuming you want to see the colors in the actual assembly as opposed to the assembly drawing, create an assemblycut where you want the section. You can select the components to be cut (intersect) which helps identify and clarify their interaction with each other. You can create several cuts as necessary and turn them on/off (supress) as necessary.

I'm not sure what you want to achieve, can you describe it more detailed or maybe post picture it would put light in your problem.

If you are referring to Xsec in assembly I can see all colors of all may parts whenI turn onXsec in assembly.

If you are referring to Xsec in drawing, then you cannot show nor parts nor assembly's in shading (this will be possible in WF3), only thing you can do is to show wireframe with colors of parts (under View Display, Colors come from; choose The model).

Also which version of ProE do you use?

youcould create simpl. rep. on the part you whant to showthe internals components. On lesswe are talking about features.

hi Isair,

I already tried making drawings in WF3.0 pre production but you cannot shade a view if it's a section view.

I notice that when using an Xsec, if any of the parts in the asesmbly are the default color (the gray color), then the section of that part will take on the color of a nearby part. To fix that, just assign a non-default color to every part and they will all show their color in an Xsec as well.
