COM location assignment

I have imported an IGES model of a part that I am including in my assembly. I have emperically found the location of the center of mass for the part and would like to assign the center of mass location to the part. How do I do this?

Here is what I have done:
I have opened the part seperately and attempted to assign it a center of mass location using a new coordinate frame that I have assigned, but when I do this, and recalculate, the center of mass location remains the same as it was before, unmodified.

i think the centre of mass location does not alter as the new co-ordinate system what u r defining will be local co-ordinate system, software will not take the reference of this new co-ordinates as it will be having the fixed one...

if somebody knows very well abt this, pls put some light on this, will be very helpful
