Combining one part into another

I have WF3 Student Edition, but no internet access so cant use the Help. For the life of me I can't figure out how to take the part from one file and add it to the part in another part file...basically, to merge the two parts. Is this not possible in Part Mode? I am not talking about making an assembly. I just want to makesome featuresas separate partsin order to add them toseveralother part files rather than making the same part over and over.

2ms1,

it is possible. The two parts you want to merge should be in same directory. Open one of the parts say A. Now click on Insert--->Shared data---->Merge from other Model.

This will open a dialogue box to select the model. After you select the model say B you will have to give the assembly like constraints to complete the merge.

I hope this helps.
