Commands disappear

Anyone else have the problem of commands disappearing? The most common one is the "query" option will go away. If I exit the program and return to where I was in the model it will be back.

Todaythe mirror command started to randomly disappear. I loaded a surface from IGES, mirror was avail in the menus, and it created the mirror surface. I opened a second part file, repeated the IGES load, andthe mirror command isn't available. If I return to the original part, roll it back to just before the mirror, and the mirror command is now "not" available. Yet if I roll the first part forward again it makes the mirror surface same as before.

Many commands require preselection of entities, it's how Pro/E is supposed to be able to offer us "intelligent" context driven menues. However, the logic of which commands require preselection vs which commands can not be used with preselection vs commands that work either way completely escapes me.

Hi GregPage

We have sometimes problem with "query" too.

You can try this way to fix it. Probably problem is in the file "config.win". You can remove the latest version of this file and use previous version for work.

If this way can't help you, you can use file "config.win" from that machine where "query" is working properly.

It isn't the pre-selection criteria as if you exit the program then return to the same part/build the command is usually back. This always works with the query command, but so far doesn't seem to bring back the mirror command. I can repeat the part sequence (mirror is only the second command) with a new file with the same part and for now at least mirror doesn't reappear.

I'll look into comparing the config.win to another system to see if I find any differences.

Thanks - Greg
