Composit Curve

I remember in Pro 2001 you could create a composit datum curve but now that I am in WF2 I can not find it. Where did it go?

just create few points (on the plane or cubical space) and than create curve through those points. Are you talking about this?

No, you used to be able to select solid edges to create the curve. for example 2001 I could create a curve using a combination of edges that were straight and arced.

Hey,

If your starting from a solid, select the face of the solid then select the edge which needs to be included in your curve. Now the edge should highlight, select it it turns read now copy paste (control c control v or use the edit menu). When you press shift and move around proe will try to find a chain. If not click on the same curve you selected with shift pressed. Now you can select any other edge, as long as they start or end before the last one. Curves must be tangent to be able to make it a approximate curve.

When starting from a surface, select the surface, edge will then highlight when you move over them and see above for the rest

Making a composite datum curve in WF sucks

This change in wildfire really helps to convince you that ptc know what they are / were doing........not.

Wildfire picking to make a composite curve is not at all intuitive but there is a video tutorial that shows how to pick which is excellent; Its from Netesh Gohil, available by picking help center, Pro/Engineer Wildfire 2.0 Resource Center, Selection Tutorial.

The video has sound.
