Composite Option WF3

Dear All,

I just noticed , that when opening a new model, below the option type solid there is a type "composite" option. I tried to look on the online manual but I could not find anything related to it.

Does anybody know more about it?

Thank you
Fabio

There was/is a module called Pro/Composite but it hasn't been updated / supported in years, like since Rev 20 or before. You get it when you purchase one of the optional modules (I forget which one). But if you talk to your PTC salesrep, the standard line is that they recommend a 3d party partner software package for your composite design.

FiberSIM from Vistagy kind of took over that ProE option. They create software for all three major CAD packages. It is an interesting software option but it mostly used to speed the production of many parts by creating things like flat patterns and laser ply definition files.

If ProE has something that helps model composite pieces (large yet very thin can be difficult!) I would love to hear about it. Does anybody have some other software add in ideas???

Well,
Laminate Tools, developed by Anaglyph, http://fp.anaglyph.f9.co.uk/

not sure how good it is, but i know that it is very expensive.....
