You should be able to hide the copy geometry feature in the model tree. I am assuming you dont have a copy geometry layer to hide so that wouldnt hide that feature. Also you probably have children of the copy geometry so suppressing the copy geom feature would suppress a bunch of other features.
If you are talking about a merge/inheritance rather than a "copy geometry", you cannont hide a solid entity.
