copy of surfaces WF2.0

New member
hello,
I have to copy selected surfaces from one drawing to another.

I try do this by using way: INSERT SHARED-DATA>COPY GEOM. FROM OTHER MODEL>..., but I have to select all surf. one by one. It's makes a risk that some of surfaces could be lost.
I try also to copy surfaces by selecting surf.ID from left features window but It's failed.
What is the best way to copy all selected surf. form one to another drw.?

regards
Gregory

Hi Gregorz,

try this: in a first part> Insert>Shared Data>Publish Geometry . And then in a second part > Insert>Shared Data>Copy Geom.from Other Model and selectyourPublish Geometry.

I hope this helps. Zdenek

grzegorz,

Do that again: INSERT SHARED-DATA>COPY GEOM. FROM
OTHER MODEL> Select one surface, then RIGHT MOUSE CLICK, choose SOLID SURFACES. Voila!

Let me know if that works, I use WF3 M030.

trillicomm,
I've already try this way and its works but this kind of sollution has one principal condition: you could choose automatically all surfaces that are already closed
(eg.all choosen surfaces comes from copy of solid).
In my current case all surfaces are open, also I'cant use the way described above.

Zdenek,
I've checked your proposal- problem is the same like in:INSERT SHARED-DATA>COPY GEOM. FROM OTHER MODEL>... you have to manually indicate all surfaces that to want to copy. (see attached pic.)
I am trying to find a way how to move all highlighted sufaces ( from feature's tree) to a surfaces selection window.View attachment 3103

trillicomm,
all open surfs. that I try to choose are copied from solids.

The problem is that thease surfs. are open and do not make completely closed volume of solids thats comes from.
