Copying features

I have having some problems copying features. I mirrored a feature (say 10 extrudes) and when I mirror again the mirrored feature, I get a mirror of the mirrored feature, as well as a mirror of the original features. Is there a way to prevent that? How do i remove any relations that the mirrored feature have from the original feature? Thanks!

make sure that the merge bodies or faces box is unchecked, so that you keep the parts seperate.

Also try to pick the mirror feature from tree as a feature to be mirrored and not re selct the parts again.

if you still have problems get back to us.

Cuts will not have the option to merge bodies as you are removing material, on an extrude when you are adding material you can merge the newly created bodies or not.

the box im talking about unchecking is in the mirror dialog on the bottom.

Are your 10 extrudes a single body? and you are mirroring cuts, why not do a linear pattern - try that as well.

you are trying to mirror features it should not be mirroring the original feature, just the mirrored features.
try to pick the last mirror operation from the tree as the feature to mirror and see if that works.

You can use a different method for the second set of extrudes. Perhaps pattern instead of mirroring. Or use sketch driven patterns to create copies of features. There are a lot of methods available, depending on what you need.

Mirroring can cause more problems that it's worth in the end. I prefer simply making the dimensions of the curves the same. I found it takes an extra min or two int he upfront but saves me hours in the end.
