copying imported surfaces

Hi all

I have some imported data from a laser measuring system,

The data givesa cylinder, which is the true surface as it should be made i.e.my design requirement

A second surface is gven by the centre of the measuring probe.

A third surface is given by offsetting the probe centre surface by the radius of the probe to give the surface as manufactured. I need to create a new part containing just this surface.

I put the part created from the measured data into an assembly, I created a seceond new part in that assembly I now need to create a copy surface in this new part from the measured data - poor description of a small task. I have highlighted one edge of the reqired surface.

I remember doing something simular some years ago but cannot remember how its done can anyone help?
