Hi Guys
some of you guys may see the catia, solidwork or solidedge display option in which the edges shown in black like the picture below. Could it possible in wildfire especially 4???

Hey Zaki, go to the View menu, display settings and model display and click on the shade tab and check the boxshade with edges. I normall have 2 map keys setup to turn this on or off as it is very handy sometimes.

The shade option will display the edges in a colour similar to the part's colour.
This is nice, but if you want the edges to really stand out you can use this trick in the colour & appearance dialog:

- choose 'part' from the drop-down menu and set your part's colour to e.g. black
- choose 'surfaces' from the drop-down menu and select a surface, go RMB and select part surfaces
- choose te colour you would like your part to have.

The result is that your part has the desired colour but the edges are black.

Bundle of thanx both you guys. Patrick, your tip is working well and I think I dont need make surfaces or part color change. Bcoz what is happening that if we make parts in default color its ok, but as you know that put same color parts in an assy is too messy. whenever we change the part color the edges go dim and contours not looking fine. Now the edge color is same as part, but clearly visible and a little bit different from part.

Hi Guys
I find another easy method for what Patrick told me. Just add show_shaded_edges = yes to your config.pro options and it will be permanent. But what Zestje told is much more beautiful. Because in some colors the shaded edges are good, but not for all colors.

Alternately with the edge display "on", in Color and Appearance use Color as black and highlight color of your choice set to dimness of 1.

Beware:

shaded edges come at a cost - performance. You probably won't notice it on a part or a simple assembly but load in a big assembly and spin it. With shaded edges you may only get a 1/5 - 1/3 of the framerate of non-shaded edges.

if you do this and then add features (which in turn add new surfaces) to the part, will the new features (surfaces) be in black or on the same color as the other part surfaces that you previously defined? I haven't tried it yet.
