Countersink holes

I've thought of another thing that has bugged me today (seems that Friday is my day for letting ProE annoy me)

When creating a countersink hole feature, is there any way to force ProE to to have a lead-in couterbore (a la the picture below)

Cheers

Yes you can force the hole to be a little like that, by a combination of hole/screw/c'bore and c'sink but when you will want to modify the c'sink diameter to be the same to the c'bore it will give you an error.

I would make it hole/sketched and make the shape you need (the section needs to be same as a revolve)

Vlad,

Re the first solution, this doesn't work on my WF1. I can do one or the other (c/sink or c/bore), not both. Is there a config option that I need to play with to allow for both.

Re the second, this will save me one datum feature compared to thw revolved cut that I did.

Actually I'm using WF2 (see my signature). I didn't know you use WF1, I went from 2001 to WF2 so I don't know how WF1 works.

Better use the second option, like you said it will save you a datum feature.

Vlad,

Apologies, I must have done something wrong earlier, but you can do what yo u said with the combined c/sink & c/bore in WF1...

But, it doesn't give thesolution I was looking for, as you say it fails when the the c/sink diameter and the c/bore diameter are the same.

The sketched hole does work, but is a lot longer to do rather than what I was hoping for in the OP

I use a saved aketch for things like this. Use the button to the left of the one that vlad is pointing to.

Boriska,

That config controls the ability to override the c/bore & c/sink inner diameter. I am interested in basically adding an outer c/bore diameter to a c/sink hole.

Thanks all the same
