create wavy surface

How can I create an irregular form surface wuith wf2?

I have to simulate a moved surface (wavy sheet) .

Thank you very much

sorry, its wf4. (might someone using wf2 can do a file for you?)

create a VSS , and let your sketched section be a line thats offset from the Trajectory. Let the "offsetdimension" tothe trajectory be the thing that vary, using the relation stated above.

the vss is the way to go with wavy washers, Also try playing around with

the warp command, its pretty wild what you can do.

Is there a way to do the same thing to a conic like the one below?

If not, how about an arc?

Thanks Rick
You mean create a wavy surface along a curved trajectory? It's the same as with a straight line - just dimension the sketched entity offset from the trajectory, and use the same relation. You might need to play around with the section plane control for the VSS, but for a basic sweep it shouldn't be necessary.

you can create that with a graph feature as well. The graph will vary the angle of the line to get hat sea shell look.... like Tobo said above.

Thanks for the help.

Doesn't the number 360 have to do with the sine function not the type of trajectory?

Neuronex: I was thinking of the waves being in the z direction not the xy. I got it to work by creating a dimension in that direction and then using that in the relation.

Bart: When mathmatical precision is not needed I think the graph is the way to go, its easier

360 would be one complete wave of the sine function, trajpar varies from 0 to 1 along the length of the trajectory. So in the example you getfive complete sine waves along the trajectory.
