Creating Feature Name for Part

Hi, all. The company I work for uses numbers for there part generations. So I would like to use the feature column to create the common name, ie. 0122245-01.prt (part name) cable-tie (feature name). I'd like to do this in order to place at the top of the model tree (before datums and cso). If this can be done would it show up later in the assembly model tree?

Thanks in advance,

One method that I've used to label things is to create a datum (point, plane, axis, coordinate system) in the model somewhere. then, I just rename that datum feature with the label I want to use. I typically do this for features that I group together but want to suppress for the drawing or something but it will work for what you want to do as well. There may be a better way but this way seems to work.

u can also rename the features by right clicking the feature in feature tree and rename.
