Creo 2.0 dynamic cross section

now that PTC has "finally" added this extremely useful function to the software, I'm finding it useful but far from ideal.

in order to dynamically move the section, you must push/pull on the drag handle in the model window. You can initiate a 2d view of the section to see how your part changes as the section plane moves. But the movement is very imprecise.

in SW, you could move set an increment value such that hitting (yes, the arrow keys) the correct key would move the section plane a specific measure away. this way, you could step through your part slice by slice looking for issues.

the new implementation in Creo seems to lack this. So, while I can drag my slider carefully, I can't directly control it.

does anybody who has been using Creo 2.0 know a way to increment the drag handle by a specific amount so that a mapkey can be written? in addition to dragging the slide handle, you do have have the option to manually enter an offset dimension so perhaps this field could be used to increment the value via a mapkey of some sort?

Looking for ideas.

Thanks

Michael

There's a capability to create a pattern of cross sections
with the new tool, right clicking on the cross section
gives you that option.that could be a workaround for
creating incremental cross sections. this way you can
visually compare the cross section all at the same time.
then u can edit the first member of the pattern (RMB on it
in the feature tree>edit) and change the place of the
section dynamically while the pattern increment is
maintained constant.or u can change the increment
dynamically too.
