Curved label

I need to make a label that will be placed onto a curved surface of an assembly. I will need a drawing of the flat label and also the label needs to be visible in the assembly drawing.

I have searched quite a few ways and have not found exactly what I need. I don't thing using a JPEG as a texture will work as that is not visible in drawings. I have made a sheetmetal part that can be flat or bent. I made a sketch with the text I need and then projected the sketch onto the bent surface of the part.

However, when I unbend the part the text does not unbend with it. I may also have to add a logo to the the label.

Anyone have a good solution?

Second technique looks good. I got up to the flatten quilt. I assume sketch 2 is the text. What is the intersect 1 feature? Are you cutting the text out of the surface?

If you wrap the curve on the surface it retains the original length and shape. However you can only wrap the curve/text on a "ruled" surface.

I have used a sheetmetal part with the text created as a solid cut to a depth 1/2 of the part thickness, the part bends as if the text was not there and the text bends with it. See attached:

That's unbelievable! I never even tried that because I just assumed Pro/E would reject anything in sheetmetal that was not constant thickness. Beauty. My part was already in sheetmetal so it was very simple to redefine. I suppose I could have cut all the way through but I didn't want the part the label is stuck on to show up.
