Datum curve by "form" failing

Hi all,

When i create a datum curve by form, it is failing.

I sketched the curve in dtm2 plane and used the quilt above it as the reference to the form .

HOwever, if i sketch the curve in areas other than the radius portion in the quilt , it is OK..

I use PRO/E 2001 2002430, then simulated the same problem in 2004010.

Any ideas?

ok,

i will put it simply;

why a datum curve created by "form" option fails when the quilt selected for "forming" is having a split in its "sketch".

assume that u have created a surface by sweep, and in that the section is a simple reugular hexagon.

I now have a circle(sketched) at a plane near the quilt , the position of the circle is such that its centre is located in the vertex of the hexagon..

in other words, is it not possible for the "form" datum curve to be created ,when quilt on which it is formed is having the following cross section, and if point A lies with in the circle(eg, for datum curve sketch)

Here you will that point A splits the curve that is formed on the quilt...

If you are trying to project the curve onto the surface, try using a "sketch plane" that does not intersect the surface.

It is not project but form, i guess you know the difference..

and in deed i have used a skeltch plane only...and i need to form the curve(for eg, circle) in the surface that has a cross section as drawn by me above..
