Datums on dimension

HI,

does anybody know how to put a datum reference for a GD&T (for example the "-A-") on a dimension line (outside the witness line) without necessarily defining a datum plane or axis? Or better, is it possible to attach the "-A-" directly to the dimension or witness line?

Thanks!

In Pro/E you have to assign the datum to a plane or axis and then attach it to a dimension (optional). If you do not want to do this you can make your own symbol and stick it anywhere you choose but this will not be associative to the model so it is not recommended.

This method is not recommended either, but you can add a note, @[-A-@],in the drawing and place it any where that you want to. Then "group" it by relating it to the view. This is not parametric, but at least if you move the view, the note moves with it.
