Deleting referenced features.

I am having a problem with changing parts that are referenced to each other.

For example:

I make 1 plate with cut outs(holes) in it. Then in assembly view I create another plate using the dimensions and positions of the holes in the original plate as reference. Now I want to delete the holes from the original plate without disturbing the 2nd part that I created. How do I view / change / delete these references?
Is there a good tutorial on trouble shooting problems in pro-e when things don't regenerate and errors come up?

Thank you,

Boris

Boris,

Effectively what you want to do is to break the associativity between the holes in the second plate and the holes in the first plate. The easiest way to do this is to open the second plate, edit def. on the holes and enter the sketch. Then edit the sketch references and delete all references that are from any item in the list that are outside the second plate. (You may at this point need to add references that are specific to the second plate, aany relevent datum planes should do).Once you have done that the dimensions in the sketch will now be weak and will need to be re-attacked to the references for the second plate only.

That should do it
