Deleting surfaces in imported geo

HI everybody,

I'm trying to adjust some bad geometry imported from an IGES file. The part is quite alright but there are some surfaces (bad ones)I cannot delete. I would like to do that.

I tried to make a copygeom on another .prtfile excluding the surfaces i do not want (also making the part independent) I can see the "correct"model (without the "bad" surface) in the window but when it regenerates it gives me an error "overlapping geometry" asking to resolve it! What can I do?

Thanks

Edit Def, menu: Edit Delete (it's a verb/noun command; e.g. you have to start the command then select surfs).

You can also put the junk surfs on a layer and blank along with dis-associating them from the import quilt (Feature Properties, Exclude I believe).

..... afterthought: Excluding is a little quirky if I remember correctly. If it doesn't seem to work; Geometry, Heal, Manual, Edit Bndry, Done might help.
